In September 2015, at the Geneva Forum, a great initiative was announced to help identify organic farmers worldwide. This GS1 ‘The Global Language of Business’  (www.gs1.org) initiative will set the direction for achieving traceability across the supply chain. You may compare it to a ‘barcode’ for organic products. The International Trade Centre, an agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organization, created Trade for Sustainable Development as a partnership-based program to support sustainability practices in global supply chains.
